Frame Section Generator

Automatically generate fully annotated elevation and section views along selected project grids.

Grid-Based Generation

This tool utilizes your project's grid system as the primary reference for view placement. By selecting a list of grids, the engine calculates the exact cutting plane for each frame.

Step 1 Grid Selection

Select one or multiple grids from the checklist. The tool will generate a unique view for every unique grid line selected.

Step 2 View Creation

The system places a Section or Elevation marker perfectly aligned with the grid, ensuring the "Far Clip Plane" captures the intended structural depth.

Embedded Automation

Views are not just created; they are fully prepared for the documentation set through the following automated actions:

Smart Tagging

Immediately identifies and tags all structural elements visible in the frame, including:

  • Beams (Framing)
  • Columns
  • Structural Walls
  • Foundations (if visible)

Automated Dimensioning

Generates linear dimension strings along the frame, typically referencing floor levels (elevations) and intersecting grid lines (horizontal distances).

Graphical Standards

Feature Logic Applied
View Template The system automatically applies the View Template defined in the Frame Section Settings to control scale, detail level, and visibility.
View Naming Names are generated based on the Grid ID (e.g., "FRAME_SECTION_GRID_A") to maintain project browser organization.
Tag Orientation Tags are intelligently placed to avoid overlap with dimension lines and grid heads.
Note on Settings:

To change the default View Template or Tag styles, navigate to the Frame Section Settings panel before running the generator.
