Naming and Numbering Settings

Define global formatting rules, separator logic, and sequencing for automated structural element marks.

Mark Separation

Configure the character used to separate different spatial parameters (e.g., Grid, Level, and Number) within a single identification mark.

Separator Character

Current Separator: - (Hyphen)

Example output: B1-L1-01

Global Mark Formatting

Control the inclusion of static prefixes and zero-padding for numerical sequences across all element categories.

Enabled Show Prefix

Automatically includes the element-specific prefix (defined in individual Beam/Column/Wall settings) at the start of the mark string.

Enabled Use Two Digits

Ensures numerical sequences are zero-padded (e.g., "01" instead of "1") for better sorting and visual alignment in schedules.

Mark Composition Workflow

Parameter Hierarchy

When generating a mark, the system follows this construction logic:

  • Prefix: The category identifier (e.g., "B" for Beam).
  • Spatial Data: Data pulled from Revit (Grids, Levels, or Zones).
  • Sequence: The unique number assigned to the specific element.
